Eye Clinic
Dakar Senegal (from November 20th to 27th, 2010)
The aim of the Eye Clinic is to contribute to heath improvement of the underserved population of Senegal. It corrects vision defects with a complete check up, donations of refurbished glasses, and prescriptions of appropriate medical care in cases of ocular pathologies.
In collaboration with Senegalese NGO, USE’s voluntary oculists, opticians, and other specialists have so far examined, free of charge, 3,500 people a week, including patients from a densily populated area of Dakar and other regions of the country. Medical equipment has been carried where needed and special care has been taken of women and children.
This has been a fruitful experience both for clinitians as well as for Senegalese and Italian volunteers.
